The Impact of Bowen Therapy on Stroke Recovery

Updated: May 4

It was heartbreaking to learn that he passed away on November 26th due to a septic bladder infection. I spoke with his son, daughter, and granddaughter, who gave me permission to share this message. The Bowen Federation of Australia also asked me to post a blog on my website about Bowen's role in helping stroke victims. I requested to include a memorial for Dr. Mosher as well. I will share the link to their news article below.

I first met Dr. Mosher in 2012 when I discovered Bowen therapy and its benefits for one of my clients. Eager to achieve similar results, I decided to learn from him. I studied under him for three years before realizing the importance of teaching this to every massage therapist I know. With his approval, we developed a class for continuing education.

The Journey of Learning

In 2015, I received approval from the NCBTMB to offer Bowsage Therapy, a 30-minute routine that can be performed alone or incorporated into any massage. Since then, I have taught thousands of students and will continue to do so with my team of instructors. Dr. Mosher was passionate about sharing his discoveries, and I am committed to continuing his legacy and spreading this knowledge in the world of healing.

A Commitment to Education

Thank you, Dr. Mitchell, for the countless hours we spent discussing Bowen therapy and for your many visits over the years to engage with my students. I promise to carry on your work and keep your legacy alive.

The Role of Bowen Therapy in Stroke Recovery

Bowen therapy has shown remarkable potential in aiding stroke recovery. This gentle, non-invasive technique focuses on stimulating the body's healing processes. Many stroke victims have reported improvements in mobility, pain relief, and overall well-being after receiving Bowen therapy.

Understanding the Benefits

The benefits of Bowen therapy extend beyond physical healing. Many patients experience emotional and psychological relief. The therapy promotes relaxation and reduces stress, which is crucial for those recovering from a stroke.

The Science Behind Bowen Therapy

Bowen therapy works by applying gentle pressure to specific points on the body. This technique encourages the body to reset itself and promotes natural healing. Research suggests that Bowen therapy can enhance circulation and improve lymphatic drainage. These effects can be particularly beneficial for stroke recovery.

Personal Stories of Recovery

Many individuals have shared their personal experiences with Bowen therapy. For instance, one stroke survivor reported significant improvements in her mobility and a reduction in pain after just a few sessions. These stories highlight the potential of Bowen therapy as a complementary treatment for stroke recovery.

Continuing the Legacy

As I move forward, I will ensure that Dr. Mosher's teachings remain at the forefront of Bowen therapy education. His passion for helping others will continue to inspire new generations of therapists.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Dr. Mosher's contributions to Bowen therapy and his dedication to helping stroke victims will never be forgotten. His legacy will live on through the countless students and patients who benefit from his work.

With a grateful heart,

Michelle Lally
